Launch Desk privacy policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
Launch Desk is a Shopify app that helps stores prepare product listings, product images, style images, social captions, product videos and Instagram posts. It is operated by Onboardsoft LLC (“we”). This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. Questions: [support email not set].
Who this covers
Merchants who install Launch Desk and the staff they let use it. Launch Desk does not access your customers or your orders, and it collects nothing from shoppers who visit your store.
Information we collect
From your Shopify store, when you install the app
- Store details: name, myshopify address, website address, country, currency, language, time zone and the logo shown on your storefront.
- Your catalogue setup: collections, product tags, vendors, product types, sales channels and stock locations, so you can choose defaults.
- Products the app creates for you, and a lookup by SKU to avoid creating duplicates.
- An access token for your store, saved encrypted, so the app can create products and upload images for you.
About the people who sign in
- Name, email address and Shopify staff ID provided by Shopify when someone signs in, whether they are the store owner, and their role in the app (owner or staff).
- Sign-in sessions and when someone last used the app.
What you add to the app
- Settings: business profile, writing style, listing rules, approved suppliers, studio backgrounds, logos and social media preferences.
- Product information and photos you add by hand or in a spreadsheet, and product pages from your approved suppliers that you ask the app to read.
- Content the app makes for you: processed images, listing copy, style images, captions, video prompts and videos, including videos you upload.
- Avatars: if you make an avatar from a photo, the photo of the person (a face photo). You confirm the photo is of you or that you have the person's permission, and that they are an adult; we record who confirmed it and when.
If you connect Instagram
- Your Instagram professional account ID and username, and an access token to publish the posts and Stories you choose. Post IDs and links are kept so the app can show what was published.
Billing and usage
- Your plan, read from Shopify, and counts of the products and AI videos made each month. Payment details are handled by Shopify; we never see them.
How we use it
- To provide the app: prepare products, write copy, make images and videos, upload to your store and publish the posts you approve.
- To sign people in, keep each business's information separate, and let owners manage their team.
- To apply your plan's limits and report extras to Shopify for billing.
- To keep the app secure and working, and to answer your support requests.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use your store's information or content to train artificial intelligence models.
Who we share it with
Only with the services that do work for the app, and only what each needs:
- Shopify: products and images are created in your store; billing and plan details are handled by Shopify.
- Anthropic (Claude): product details and photos, to write listing copy, captions and video prompts, read supplier product pages, and find the surface in studio backgrounds.
- OpenAI: text descriptions of the background style and product theme, to generate studio backgrounds; avatar descriptions, and the photo when you make an avatar from a photo, to generate avatar images.
- xAI (Grok Imagine): the style image and video prompt, to generate product videos; and, if you choose it, background descriptions.
- Meta (Instagram): the images, videos and captions you choose to publish.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the app's database and files.
These providers process the information on our behalf under their business terms, which do not allow them to use it to train their models. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- While the app is installed, we keep your information so you can see past batches and their content.
- A photo uploaded to make an avatar is deleted as soon as the avatar is made (or the attempt fails). The avatar image stays in your avatar library until you delete it, and is only shown to your store's signed-in users.
- When you uninstall the app, everyone is signed out and the store connection stops. Shopify then asks us to erase the store's data (48 hours after uninstalling), and we delete the business, its batches, products, posts, settings and files.
- You can ask us to delete your information sooner, or a staff member's details, by writing to [support email not set].
Security
Connections to the app are encrypted (HTTPS). Store access tokens are encrypted at rest. Each business can only see its own information, and only owners can change settings, billing and team members.
Your choices and rights
You can view and change your settings and content in the app at any time. You, and staff who use the app, can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold, to correct it or to delete it, by writing to [support email not set]. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK or California) you may have further rights under data protection law, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
The app uses only the cookies it needs to work: one to keep you signed in, one during the Shopify sign-in, one to remember your store's address on the sign-in page, and one for your light or dark theme. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
Changes
We will update this page when the app changes how it handles information, and change the date at the top.
